Article by the Rt Hon Jack Straw MP, former Foreign Secretary and GSF Advisory Board member

Former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw MP argues that as negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 resume in Kazakhstan this week, 'resolving the current impasse will require statesmanship of a high order from both sides' and that 'from the West, there has to be a better understanding of the Iranian psyche'.  He says that even in the event of a nuclear-armed Iran, while the international community would have to pursue a policy of containment, war 'is not an option'.
