Sir Crispin Tickell
Guest Speaker
Sir Crispin Tickell is a font of knowledge when it comes to climate change. His first book on the subject was published in 1997 when, as he puts it " people thought I was mad". His talk was full of sound advice and was sobering to say the least - well worth a listen. [apologies for the fire alarm at the beginning!]
Johan Eliasch
President of Global Strategy Forum
A few months ago businessman Mr Johan Eliasch found himself in the press after it emerged that he had bought 400,000 acres of virgin rainforest in the state of Amazonas, Brazil. In this piece he explains the rationale behind his purchase and at the same time throws down the gauntlet to, amongst others, the British Government, the aviation industry and big business in general calling on them to stop 'fiddling around with low impact measures' and to tackle the issue of climate change head on.
