The November 2016 Debate I: ‘Syria: Regional Crisis Or ‘New World War’?’

IMG_1042On Tuesday 22nd November, we were delighted to welcome an expert panel to GSF. The Rt Hon Tom Brake MP, Liberal Democrat Chief Whip and Foreign Affairs Spokesperson; the Rt Hon Alistair Burt MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the FCO with responsibility for the Middle East (2010-2013); Peter Oborne, the former chief political commentator of The Telegraph; and Dr Christopher Phillips, Senior Lecturer in the International Relations of the Middle East at Queen Mary, University of London and author of The Battle for Syria: International Rivalry In The New Middle East, spoke in a debate entitled ‘Syria: Regional Crisis Or ‘New World War’?’ which was chaired by Lord Lothian.
