Unless otherwise stated, our events are open to all and take place at The National Liberal Club (David Lloyd George Room), Whitehall Place, London SW1A 2HE. Details of our forthcoming events can be found below.

Our lectures and debates take place between 13:00 - 14:00, with doors opening for lunch at 12:30.

The February Seminar

Monday 8th February 2010 (9am-12.30), Committee Room 4A, House of Lords

Global Strategy Forum will be hosting a seminar on 'Turkey's Role in an Emerging Network Word'. The seminar will take place in the House of Lords on Monday 8th February 2010. We are honoured to have the participation of a high level Turkish delegation, including HE Egemen Bagis, the Turkish State Minister for EU Affairs and HE Yasar Yakis, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs. Dominic Grieve QC MP, the Shadow Justice Secretary, will be the UK keynote speaker. The seminar will provide a series of expert perspectives on how and where Turkey can bring her influence to bear effectively on the wider international scene. It will focus on Turkey's position as a hub connecting east and west, both strategically and politically. It will aim to explore the growing influence and role of Turkey, westwards in terms of its relationship with the EU but also eastwards, in terms of its relationship with the Middle East and the broader region and it will examine the wider, constructive role that Turkey can play in regional issues and beyond, in a period of rapid change. The seminar will be chaired by the Rt Hon Michael Ancram MP, Chairman of Global Strategy Forum. The February Lecture I

Tuesday 9th February 2010 (12.30-2.30pm)

Professor Christopher Andrew, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, Former Chair of the History Faculty at Cambridge University, Official Historian of the Security Service (MI5) and author of The Defence of the Realm; The Authorized History of MI5 will be our first guest lecturer in February 2010. The title of his lecture is to be confirmed.
